Safety and privacy
Safe by design, honest by default.
Most of our learners are children. Here is how we look after their data, what the AI and tutors can and cannot do, and where to turn if something worries you.

Your child's data
- A parent or guardian creates the account and gives consent for the child's data. A child does not sign up alone.
- We collect only what learning and support need. A child's first name is enough.
- Each child's record is private. A parent sees only their own child, never classmates, and one school never sees another's data.
- We do not sell personal data, we show no advertising to children, and we do not track children for advertising.
- This website sets no tracking cookies.

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 treats everyone under 18 as a child, and asks for a parent's verifiable consent before a child's data is processed. The DPDP Rules, 2025 set out how that consent is checked; those rules apply from 13 May 2027. We already ask a parent or guardian, not the child, and our privacy policy explains what we collect and why.
Learning you can trust
- Notes, AI Guru and recovery lessons draw only on approved lesson material, never on random websites.
- AI Guru is told to say plainly when it does not know, rather than make something up. If the AI service is down, it says so.
- Marking happens on our servers, so no score can be changed in the browser.
- When something is not available, such as a tutor who is offline, we say so plainly.

When your child meets a tutor
3AM Friend tutors are checked and approved by the institute that manages them, before they can teach.
- Identity and KYC checks, qualifications, and a background or police check.
- A sample teaching video for each subject, and a signed child-safety (POCSO) declaration.
- Sessions happen in a private room that only your child and the tutor can enter.
- These checks reduce risk; they are not a guarantee.

If something worries you
- Tell us through our contact page: about a session, something AI Guru said, or your child's data.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 112.
- Childline India: call 1098, free, at any hour, for any child who needs help.
- Online abuse or harmful content involving a child: report it at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930.
Questions parents ask
Who can see my child's information?
You see your own child's record. Your child's teachers see it if your child learns through a school or institute. No other parent, and no other institution, can see it.
Do you sell data or show ads?
No. We do not sell personal data, and we show no advertising to children.
Can AI Guru give a wrong answer?
It can make mistakes, like any AI. It answers only from approved lesson material and is told to say when it does not know. If something looks wrong, tell us.
Can anyone else enter a 3AM Friend session?
No. Only your child and the tutor can enter the session room.
Who is a child under India's data protection law?
Anyone under 18. Every SelfEnabler learner in Classes 6 to 12 is a child under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
How do I get a copy of my child's data, or have it deleted?
Write to us through our contact page. Our privacy policy explains what we keep, for how long, and how to ask.
