Child protection policy
Zero tolerance for harm to any child.
Last updated: 2 October 2026. Every SelfEnabler learner in Classes 6 to 12 is a child. This policy sets out how we keep them safe, and what everyone who works with them must do.

Who this policy covers
This policy is adopted by Tutelage Education Services Pvt Ltd and Talent4Assure Assessment Services Pvt Ltd, who own SelfEnabler. It applies to everyone who works with SelfEnabler learners: our staff, our senior content team, and every 3AM Friend tutor, whether regular or contractual.
A child is anyone under 18, as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (the POCSO Act) defines it.
We follow the principle of zero tolerance to violence against children that Rule 3(5) of the POCSO Rules, 2020 asks every organisation working with children to adopt. If the Government publishes a child protection policy under that rule, we will adopt it.
Who may teach a child
Before a tutor can teach, SelfEnabler's senior content team checks and approves them:
- An identity (ID) and KYC check.
- Qualifications checked.
- A sample teaching video for each subject.
- A signed child-safety (POCSO) declaration.
- Our child protection pledge-cum-policy, which every tutor receives before they teach.
- Every session is recorded, so a tutor's teaching keeps being checked after approval.
What every tutor must do
- Talk to a child only inside the SelfEnabler app. No phone numbers, social media, email or messaging apps, and no meeting in person.
- Teach only in the private session room, which only the child and the tutor can enter.
- Keep every word, image and gesture professional and about the lesson.
- Never ask a child for personal details, photos or money, and never offer gifts.
- Report at once any sign that a child may be at risk, as described below.
Recordings
- Every 3AM Friend session is recorded.
- Only the child who was in the session can watch the recording.
- The recording is deleted once the child completes that class.
How to report a concern
- Write to complaint@tutelageedu.com about anything that worries you: a tutor, a session, a message, or something you saw in the app.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 112.
- Childline India: call 1098, free, at any hour, for any child who needs help.
- Online abuse or sexual content involving a child: report it at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930.
- Concerns about personal data go to our data-protection contact at legal@talent4assure.com.
Our duty to report
Under section 19 of the POCSO Act, anyone who knows of, or fears, a sexual offence against a child must tell the Special Juvenile Police Unit or the local police. Everyone this policy covers must do so, and must also tell us. Reporting in good faith is protected by law.
Section 21 of the Act makes it an offence for a person in charge of a company to fail to report such an offence by someone under their control. We report every such case to the police.
Under Rule 11 of the POCSO Rules, any sexual material involving a child is reported to the police or at cybercrime.gov.in, never shared further.
What happens after a report
- We take every report seriously and look into it straight away.
- If we receive a complaint about a tutor, we remove that tutor from SelfEnabler.
- Where the law requires it, we report the matter to the police.
- We keep the child's and the reporter's details private, sharing them only as the law requires.
Keeping this policy up to date
We review this policy when the law changes or when we change how SelfEnabler works, and at least once a year. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
